| Thank you so much to the parents that drove for the Chick-fil-a field trip. The tour is so informative and interesting. I am sure that their favorite part would be the Chick-fil-a lunch afterwards! Truett Cathy was an incredible entrepreneur and a lot can be learned from him. ERB testing began today. Students did well and now have a clear understanding of how the test is structured. Please make sure that your child is getting the sleep needed and eating breakfast. I will have a protein snack again tomorrow and then students will need to bring their own snack for the rest of the week. I had several students bring something today and it was a nice brain boost in between the sessions. Tomorrow students will take sections on Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension. Please see the attached flyer for a Spirit Night at St. Angelo's tomorrow night. Next week, I will hold a traditional multiplication tutorial on Monday and Wednesday. This will be the final week for tutorials this year. All are welcome to attend one or both days! Schedule for this week: Tues: ERB 8:15-9:35 Wed.: Late Start, ERB 9:00- 10:00 Thurs. ERB 9:15-10:00 Fri: 8:15-9:45 Laptops will not be allowed home Monday, April 27th-May 11th because of the WrAP and ERBs. Math: Students began working on the End of the Year review. This will be completed by Wednesday and we will check it before the Math part of the ERB on Friday. The End of Year test will be next week on Tuesday. Reading: This time will mainly be used for testing prep and review. Writing: Students began the Arc of the Story unit using the curriculum, "Heroes that Matter." Ms. Knight will be teaching this service learning unit. This unit focuses on a real-life hero, turning nonfiction into fiction, and real world problems. * There will not a be a weekly writing assignment this week so that you can rest and get any review work completed. Social Studies: Hodgetown and our study of the Southern Colonies will be coming to a close over the next two weeks. |
